WHAT HAPPENS IN DESIGN (FOR HEALTH) RESEARCH?
Design for Health research is no different from other disciplines in relation to choices of methods used within the research. Much will depend on the focus of your research. A number of authors have written about these approaches and multiple models of research in art and design exist. These generally fall into one of the following two approaches:
Research undertaken to build knowledge and understanding about art or design in a particuLar context.
Research undertaken that informs or builds Understanding about a subject that art or design may respond to.
However, in addition to these methods, the Design for Health researcher can use creative practice (making, building, creating, drawing) as a method to build knowledge.
